About
Good day to all -
My name is Scott Brent and I am an instructional designer for many reasons. First and foremost, I have been and will be teaching for as long as I live. As an achondroplasia dwarf, I have been challenged in the best possible way to help reframe the conversation around diversity, equity, and inclusion. This occurs in several places outside of the classroom, including entertainment spaces, malls, and most frequently on the street. With each interaction, I learn how influential cadence, body language, and listening are in fostering a mutual understanding of what it means to be different. The broad frequency of these interactions also means I have seen learners at their best and I have seen learners at their worst. This not only allows me to effectively capture the voices and attitudes of many audiences when designing training but exercise numerous diplomatic tactics when engaging both stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Moving forward in my lifelong career as an educator, I seek to acquire further exposure to e-learning technologies to continue building training that is widely accessible, engaging, and transferrable. With this skill, I know that my content has the power to incite the organizational change that is needed.
I look forward to learning from you.
